History Chapter 6 part 8

How awful! My advisors tell me “We have to make a peace treaty it’s our only chance!”, but I was all like no we can win. I told them a few more hundred maybe thousands of lives gone wouldn’t matter. I was all like “The pheasants aren’t worth saving” and then they were like “Then where will we get our food?” and then I was like “You make it then” and they were like “What if we had a rebellion!” this basically went back and forth. Then they took this argument public. They started telling the pheasants and then I just was bombarded with more yelling. Eventually I was worn down to make a peace treaty on their terms. I didn’t get anything I wanted! All I got was no First Nation help and five months wasted.

Extremely annoyed,

Ruler of America

History Chapter 6 part 7

How many people do you know that kill their own people? Well, those Americans stabbed their own soldiers with those pointy sticks on the end of guns. They “bayoneted” them. Hmm, why do they call it” bayoneted”? Why don’t you just call it like stabbed by the pointy stick at the end of a rifle? Too long I guess. Well, so the Americans attacked their own troops that were in front of them. They “bayoneted” a lot. It was in the forest too, not many of our troops went into the forest. More than the amount we accidentally killed. We were mostly by Niagara Falls defending. They run away and then prepare to attack, but never do. Jeez we had to prepare for nothing!

History Chapter 6 part 6

I am a soldier that fought in the war, I survived every battle, but the last one unfortunately my friend died. I lived though. We basically won, but the Americans made a treaty for peace, I don’t really care as long as Britain lives. The only reason they basically surrendered is because we beat Napoleon. Again proving our superiority. All the soldiers and soldiers’ families got land grants money and other things while those filthy traitors lost their land, died or got deported. Fair I guess, but this entire war was pointless a complete waste of time. Ughh

History Chapter 6 part 5

Those Americans, so useless. I am Harold Herold and I thought British North America was toast with Napoleon and America attacking. Yet, they still fail! They had more soldiers and everything. Those Americans so foolish. Hey Americans if you are reading this you were so naive thinking you would win because you had more people. “a mere matter of marching” eh? You still lost. Like the battle of Queenston Heights, the battle of Chateauguay. Not flukes, complete skill on our part. Sure you captured Lake Erie big whoop. You killed you own solders plenty of times. Then you chicken out and made a treaty of peace. If our leader wasn’t so nice we would have taken over all of North America! Hear this Americans?!

History Chapter 6 part 4

Ello, I am a Ferst Nation person named Ferank Ferend. We were notified by a Laura Secord that the United States was going to attack. I thought it was a joke, but when she made such a fuss we took her to the British leader. I turned out they did attack and we defended ourselves (“Like a boss” as somebody said). I was happy we helped our country. We held our position and were “Like a boss”. Not many people on our side died either so it was a great win for us. We were outnumbered and out mached, but we still won! Well better get back to work. It’s my turn to guard.

History Chapter 6 part 3

Seh hut. This is Stanley Gused our leader Sir Isaac Brock has made an alliance with Tecumseh, the leader of the First Nations. It was a good choice we are stronger now. We are approaching Detroit as I write. We got to Detroit about an hour ago and I was ready to do some damage. Yet they surrendered at first sight. It was a win, but not a win we worked for. They even had more men than us. Still they decided to surrender. It was so easy; it didn’t feel like a win. My comrades want every battle to be this way, but I want to earn our prize not just have it forfeited. But my comrades seemed satisfied with the win still, so I went along with it.

History Chapter 6 part 2

People these days ughh. I’m Travis Trailer a simple loyalist. I hate my new neighbors they actually like the States they support them. It seems like they will help fight if the States invade. They are the worst neighbors a person can have. They just want the land. I bet they will leave after the States fail in invading. The next week was worse they actually had the nerve to publicly announce their worship to the States. So he next week or so the States attacked and failed. After that our neighbors left. Which I was happy about, but to think they only wanted the land. They were so greedy.

History Chapter 6 part 1

Hello, I am Isaac Brock who personally wants to get rid of Napoleon. Napoleon is a jerk who wants to take over Europe. Really? He thinks he can get away with it bah (I actually think he might be able to). He will just kill people in the process. A serious waste of time. I need to protect people. I was begging and I didn’t get any authority. Then the United States attacked British North America. What were they thinking we won’t lose, especially to France they never win. Well I hope I get authority soon.

History Chapter 5 part 8

Dear Diary,
Hey it is Patrick Rick again. Guess what I still don’t remember why I became a loyalist! And nobody has told me yet. Well now that it is winter, my crops are all harvested so I have nothing to do. But then I overheard some people talking about how wood is really valuable now because the British’s supplies of wood were cut off. So I told my family that I was going to cut down trees for a living until I could start planting my crops. So I set out into the forest near the rivers. TIMBERRRRRR. I cut down the first tree I’m going to sell. It surprisingly is fun, but still hard work. And what made it worst was we had to make the trees into square bricks (How lame is that we should have done triangles). Aww well I guess for the amount of money I’m getting I can cut it into squares (Again, WHY NOT TRIANGLES???) So that is it for this diary.

History Chapter 5 part 7

Dear Diary,
Hey it is Patrick Rick, I just defected to the British I am now a loyalist and they gave me a bunch of land! It’s pretty good, but I miss my old farm and house. After I defected to the British side people at my old home were picking on me and my family (What nerve some people have). So that was the reason I came up to Upper Canada with my family. The only problem is… Well… Over half the land I got was covered in trees. The remaining space I had to use for my house so I needed space for my crops right? So yeah I had to cut down trees and plant my crops between stumps and stuff (Which made them pretty hard to find). It was really annoying. Wait a minute. Why did I become a loyalist? Hmmm… Well if anyone reading this knows tell me please.

History Chapter 4 part 6

Eh, lads I’m a scot named Scot Scotish. Well lads I was the leader of a fur trade organization consisting of Scots and English men. Let me tell you a story. It all began in 1776. I was still the leader of my fur trade company we were trying to dominate the fur trade, but so were the other two companies. The HBC was the strongest and I knew that if you can’t beat em, team up and destroy them. So I joined this other company of lads and became the North-west Company. Our company was soaring by 1783 and was dominating the fur trade. Eventually we were losing the fur trade. So we joined the HBC. The End. Not much of a story I know…

History Chapter 5 part 5

Hey, it is Andrew Drew again. Guess what, come on guess. I said GUESS! You know mine worst enemy that guy in Kingston. Well, yeah he had a fit when he heard the news. Huh, you want to know the news? Ok, well mine home York is THE NEW CAPITAL. WOO HOO! Yeah, I was amazed too. There was this lady named, ummm named. I am not good at names, but I think you know that. Well she helped her husband to make York the capital. I am so happy. Mine home is now capital. I bet this will be recorded and remembered in the future. I just wish I could see the guy in Kingston's fit again...

History Chapter 5 part 4

Hey, mine name is Andrew Drew, and I fully support the idea of having the capital moved to York. It is not only because mine home is York, but it it is easy to export and import goods. Not to mention it have good animals for hunting. The wilderness around us makes it easier to get materials and quicker than if we imported them. People today ughh, the dumb person in Kingston wants that to be the capital, they are mine worst enemy, Kingston for a capital pshh. Remember now (whoever’s reading this) make York your home and capital.

History Chapter 5 part 3

Hi, I’m the lieutenant governor of Upper Canada, and I have RULE over whoever’s reading this. So, about me. I run a country and get demands from people. I ignore most of the demands because it is usually nonsense like “We need more food!” They can live without food right? Those people who were voted to power by a democracy, pshh never listen to them they do no good around here spending money on other people. I can understand if they give it to me, but other people no way. I guess I just have to live with them giving me annoying demands.*sigh*

History Chapter 5 part 2

Eh, eh, eh. This is Thandanos of the Haudenosaunne tribe. A new member came into our tribe recently and said so many things about the British. He even convinced them to join the British. I have been trying to convince the tribe to join the 13 Colonies, but did they listen? No. This guy just had to come and tell them to join the British. He did it in less than half the time it took me to make them consider the proposal. But no this guy just had to come along and convince, and I mean convince them to join the British. It’s impressive mostly because the leader is so stubborn. I despise him and I admire him. Mostly despise though, definitely.

History Chapter 5 part 1

Hi, my name is Dankstred Olakstif, and I am a black loyalist, I have travelled far for freedom. I have come to British territory because they promised freedom and land grants. They were telling the truth, but we are always the last people to get supplies and land. I often have to go work for someone just to make a living. We get all the seeds last, the nails last, and the wood last. They are so mean. They think that we are less important (blah blah blah). They treat others better because they weren’t slaves and they had white skin (big deal). Well I’m basically a slave with freedom since I have to work to survive.

History Chapter 4 part 6

Hey, I’m the governor and I really think that all the loyalists coming up here was for the best. With all the extra people we should be able to overpower the 13 colonies if they attack again. (I hope we don’t have any more spies in camp) The population of Nova Scotia increased from twenty-thousand to thirty four thousand. We have so many more people working now (Not me of course) we are much more productive. We will triumph in battle next time (I won’t be fighting of course)!

History Chapter 4 part 5

It’s Rebecca again; it has been five days since I last wrote. In those five days we travelled to upper North America (Thank goodness). We settles south of where most loyalists went because my dad said that it would be too crowded. I’m famished from all the work we were doing to build a new home. Some people settled next to us (I’m assuming for the same reason for why my dad chose to stay here). Even though I just met the people there they were already helping me because they saw that I was struggling. At the rate we are going I think that we will be done in a week. I’m so glad we don’t have to travel anymore it gave me blisters.

History Chapter 4 part 4

Dear Diary,

It’s Rebecca, who else. One morning we were having tea and crumpets when a patriot knocked on our door. My father answered it and yelling the patriot said “YOU PEOPLE HAVE TO LEAVE AND MOVE NORTH INTO BRITISH TERRITORY” It wasn’t very nice…. (I think he had bad hearing). I know my father didn’t want to leave this house so he started arguing with a yell at the patriot. The patriot finally threatened to burn down our house and so my father said “fine were moving north”. He didn’t seem too pleased with it, but we had no choice. We loaded the wagon and headed north to British territory. I even saw my childhood friend staring at me while nodding his head left and right muttering something. I think if I knew what he was saying it wouldn’t be nice, we went up the trail into the forest. We walked along with the wagon for hours until nightfall came. This is probably one of the last times I will be writing, but I hope we make it to upper North America soon. We don’t get to eat much around here……

History chapter 4 part 3

My family and I were a neutral family that tried to remain on a neutral side, but when we saw that poor man covered in tar and how the 13 Colony people treated him we defected to the British side to try to stop this madness that was the 13 COLONIES! We were now Loyalists that were under watch every day (the people watching were sort of creepy). The war soon ended and the outcome was not pleasing for the loyalists because the 13 Colonies won (Dang it we lost). With all the Patriots influencing us to move north we got forced out of our house (They were so mean!). We started heading north but we weren’t the only ones. We saw many other loyalists walking in the same direction including people who looked like slave who were travelling for freedom.

History Chapter 4 part 2

Merchants all over Quebec are arguing about they should get more rights than the French (Those merchants are such a drag…). I, lieutenant to the governor Paul Gion shouldn’t have to put up with this pointless arguing. They demand for better rights. That wasn’t the worst of my time being the lieutenant to the governor. The king said that you have to pay for every piece of paper the print.  They protested the Stamp tax and got it to be cancelled. Unfortunately that wasn’t the least of it next they made a tea tax and the merchants started wailing at me complaining that they couldn’t keep up the amount of tea they were selling to people ( In my opinion I liked seeing the merchants being provoked so much). Next the people protested against the tea tax. They won by throwing tea into the harbor (Which was a Waste Of Tea!).

History Chapter 4 part 1

My name is Antonio and I was alive during the fall of New France. This entry in my diary is about what my feelings and location was after the fall of New France or should I call it British North America. It was a windy mid summer’s day and I was a 9 year old boy in my parents’ house near Montreal. When I was right about done hoeing the land, we were told of the fall of New France. I was devastated, and crushed that my home nation was defeated by the accursed British. Even though we were told that all French people could go back to France on a boat, my father and mother decided we would be better off on our own embracing nature then going to France. After all, the drugs there have corrupted our civilization. We were informed by some British messenger that the Monarch asked if they would become British, but we refused because we wanted our culture to remain strong and to be in Canada for future generations.
In a few weeks my friend from the First Nations of which name I cannot pronounce or spell visited me in my town and told me of how they didn’t wanted their land to be taken in Ohio Valley. His clan defended their land because the British think that since the amazing French were taken down by them they could take whatever land they wanted. He told an epic tale about how he, his father, and other people from his clan came together and took over several of the British forts, but in the end they went back to their home for the winter since it was too cold in the forts. They ended up making a truce so that the British felt safer and didn’t have to worry about the French attacking their forts. This tale I think is true enough, but some parts I think aren’t true.
